coup unlocks the insights and practices of some 3000 years of dramatic art.  We help organisations and individuals work more successfully with the resources available to them.  We consult, strategise, design and deliver engaging experiences - conference theatre and events, corporate film production, training and coaching.  Our purpose is to help people create fulfilment.

coup was founded by two professional actors who had also worked at high levels in the corporate sector, with additional experience in professional personal development. This combination of theatrical, corporate and behavioural experience is what sets us apart… it enables us to improve the success of your company’s operations by rehearsing individuals for outstanding daily performances. 

In a sense, when working in a corporate environment, coup replicates aspects of the creative relationship between an actor and a director. In the theatre, directors help actors to increase the power and sensitivity of their performances through a dynamic combination of dialogue, creative questioning and direction.  While this mode of lifting performance may be more art than science, there are skills and insights to be understood, practiced and applied.

In any event, lately it seems that science is catching up with art. New methods of studying brain function have revealed some surprising insights into the way the mind works; insights into the dynamics of emotional intelligence and how habitual thinking can create the reference points that guide behaviour.
