The coup Film Festival puts the film-maker’s power of expression and interpretation into the hands of conference delegates and can be tailored to serve a range of purposes:-

The standard package involves the coup team facilitating discussion to set the context and purpose of the exercise. We reveal the challenge – today you are going to make a short film! – and then provide a quick tutorial on how to script and shoot. Teams have between 45 minutes to an hour to script their scenario and the same to film it. The coup team will be there to assist with the scripting and the shooting as necessary, however the acting, directing, camera work etc will be done by the group. In this process, people will have time to apply critical thinking and imagination to their exploration of the themes and concepts they are given.
Once the shooting is complete, raw footage will be retrieved by the coup team, and it is then cut into a polished format in preparation for the screening of the Film Festival! Audiences are consistently astounded by the quality of their films. It’s an event that always goes off!
We tailor the process to fit in with the timetable of the whole conference. We can take the debriefing of the process to a deep level with expert facilitation around the quality of teamwork, or further consideration of the themes and issues highlighted by the films. Or the Festival can simply conclude with an Awards ceremony to rival the Oscars.
