The Great Wall
THE GREAT WALL – the location says it all. The training facility is at the foot of The Great Wall of China. A three day executuve retreat will work with the notion of using “The Great Wall” as a metaphor for what organisations need to break through or sail over in order to achieve their potential. What organisation doesn’t have the potential to lift a gear or two? What do they need to traverse? What is their “Great Wall” and what is their vision for overcoming it? Is the “Great Wall” their defensive strategy? Is it the unspoken paradigms that hold the organisation back?
coup will lead reflective and creative processes for top teams to really come to terms with the things that are impeding their success or, if we go with a strength based approach, what things will protect the future of the business.
The program will include immersive experiences like sleeping on the Great Wall under the stars. This may serve as a metaphor for becoming fully acquainted with what is limiting their business. Abseiling and climbing the Great Wall will be offered as a metaphor for moving over and past the impediments. The participants will make films, write poetry, drop their own defenses and get real. The real issues shaping the destiny of their organisation will be addressed. Strategies for future success will be forged.
In addition, a program can involve Chinese cultural and business education delivered by Chinese nationals. Organisations wrestling with their global strategy, even their China strategy, will recieve genuine insight and wisdom from experts in a place where they can deeply process the information.
The experience will be strong on reflection and sense-making; the most meaningful journeys will be ones where the internal walls are examined and overcome. It is, after all, the quality of our internal dialogue that determines our interpersonal dialogues which shape the destiny of the organisation.
The program will be tailored to meet the logistical and current organisational development needs of your team. For a conversation about embarking on this extraordinary experience contact David McCubbin at coup through this site or David Thomas through www.thinkglobal.com.au.
